Family-owned and operated Womack Custom Homes was recently named to the prestigious 2021 Bulldog 100 List for phenomenal growth. Presented by the University of Georgia (UGA) Alumni Association, the annual Bulldog 100 List spotlights the fastest-growing businesses owned or operated by UGA alumni. Matt and Stephen Womack, both UGA alumni, are fourth-generation home builders.
Candidates for the 2021 Bulldog 100 were considered by their business’ compounded annual growth rate over a 3-year period. 429 nominations were proposed for the 2021 list and verified by the Atlanta office of Warren Averett CPAs and Advisors, a Bulldog 100 partner since 2009 when the program began.
“We are beyond thrilled to be recognized by The University of Georgia for our company’s growth,” Matt Womack, president of Womack Custom Homes, said. “Whether a historic renovation, new custom home, remodel or addition, we create houses families call home. Between 2017 and 2019 and into 2020, fueled by low interest rates and Matt and Stephen’s reputation for delivering quality homes, the Cartersville-based homebuilding company experienced impressive growth. In 2020, Womack Custom Homes completed two custom builds, a historic renovation, three remodel/renovations and two active-adult homes, in addition to breaking ground on an eight-townhome project. Projects ranged in size and scope with values from the mid-$100,000s to over $1 million.
The 2021 Bulldog 100 consists of businesses of all sizes in various industries including technology, entertainment, cosmetics and education. In total, companies on the list span two countries and nine U.S. states and of the 100 recognized, 81 are located within Georgia.
