Homes might be in our name, but we don’t limit ourselves only to residential work! When commercial work is needed in our hometown of Cartersville, Womack Commercial is happy to answer the call. We had the opportunity to provide numerous updates to Komatsu’s expansive training facility located off E. Main Street.
Throughout much of the facility, the old vinyl composite tile flooring was removed and replaced with a polished concrete. The concrete floor was ground down by a machine before polishing to a high shine. However, around the edges against the wall, it was necessary for the grinding to be done by hand. This resulted in a less smooth edge, so an epoxy border was applied for a more cohesive look. In other common areas off the main entrance, new carpet was added in gathering areas to soften the expansive, open space.
The Komatsu center features several classrooms for training, many of which were given a facelift during the renovations, including updated flooring and a fresh coat of paint. The hallways and common areas also featured a pint job to brighten the space up. The facelift continued in two breakrooms, a full kitchen and a common gathering space.
Cabinets were also added throughout the facility to provide additional storage space. A kitchen, two breakrooms and a hallway outside the theater room all now have modern cabinets that allow the staff to store items as needed and keep them easily accessible.
A former storage closet located between two classrooms was turned into a kitchen serving area. The space is open to the classrooms courtesy of an automatic roll up door above the bar counter for easy accessibility. This space also features new cabinets and countertops.
Two sets of bathrooms within the training facility were also updated. The previous floor was updated to faux wood ceramic tile, which provides an upscale foundation to the space. Modern floating vanities topped with ornate mirrors hung in front of faux marble wall tile add an air of luxury to what can easily become a boring, industrial space.
Outside, the Womack team gave the demo pavilion a facelift. The space is used as a training and demonstration facility for people to learn to drive Komatsu’s equipment before leasing it. With the small changes our team made, it’s now a much more inviting space for visitors.
In addition to commercial renovation projects, the Womack Custom Homes team creates new custom homes, renovates historic homes, and adds on or remodels existing homes throughout Cartersville and the North Georgia area.
