Discovering Brilliance on West Main Street

kitchen with green cabinetry, large kitchen island with wood chairs and pendant lighting

There’s nothing the Womack Custom Homes team enjoys more than taking a homeowner’s dream and starting anew. Our team had the wonderful opportunity to take a previous home down to the studs, creating a reimagined residence from its base in Cartersville.

In the home’s entryway, access to the home’s high traffic areas as well as a center table, optimal for dropping keys and shopping backs, greets residents and guests as they return home. The home’s calming palette of beiges, greens and whites begins here, creating a haven filled with soothing colors and stylish design appointments.

The family room showcasing bright windows, tall walls and open space is the ideal communal space! Beige walls perfectly complement the rich wood floors and give the space an overall warm feel. The room’s convenient location near the home’s entrance and other high-traffic areas makes it the ideal place to convene at the beginning and end of each day. The original fireplace adds a touch of warmth to the shared space.

The Cartersville residence’s second fireplace calls this master bedroom sitting area home! Warm wooden detailing and the original cast iron cover add a beautiful contrast to the piece’s white tile detailing.

The nearby dining room is another fantastic addition to the first floor’s sense of camaraderie, offering another place to come together for every mouthwatering meal. The home’s high ceilings, large windows and neutral walls continue into this space, creating a warm background for every special occasion. The room is accentuated by an original pocket doorway leading to other parts of the home, allowing for easy flow between spaces.

A nearby powder room sparkles with some of today’s top design trends! Gorgeous forest green beadboard wainscoting paired with matching green doors paints the space in a wholesome, nature-inspired palette. The molding paired with the cream walls creates a stunning appearance in this washing-up space. A nearby large window bathes the space in ample natural light.

In the kitchen, the beautiful green theme continues as a pop of color in this natural room. Both green and white custom cabinetry provides the space with ample storage, with the top row featuring frosted glass ideal for displaying decorative crockery. A large kitchen island is the focal point of the space, offering a warm touch with its wainscoting facing that was salvaged from other parts of the home. A farmhouse-style sink, gray quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances tie the space together. Other notable features include a hexagonal backsplash featuring varying blue hues and sparkling brass hardware.

The home’s second full bathroom enjoys light yellow walls which allow the frameless shower, white toilet and sink, as well as the mirror with silver detailing, to pop!

In the guest bedroom, the homeowner’s choice to decorate the space in bright citrus tones was a fabulous one thanks to the room’s otherwise neutral palette. Two large windows overlooking the sideyard provide stunning Cartersville neighborhood views in this oasis.

In the attached owner’s bathroom, a refreshing view of light blue accents, bright white marble countertops, mixed metals and white tile offer a shining outlook in this getting-ready space. The dual vanities are at custom heights to suit the homeowners. They are capped by wall sconces and a mirror and are broken up by a small window seat with under-the-bench storage. The frameless shower is the eye-catching addition to the room with its stacked white tile, charming gray floor tiling and built-in cubby.

In the next full bathroom, the eye-catching wainscoting from the powder room is repeated and is a beautiful complement to the space’s antique-inspired freestanding tub, sink and toilet highlighted by gold hardware.

The final stop in this fabulous restoration project is the morning room located in the rear of home. The tongue and groove ceiling was salvaged from a renovation that the Womack Custom Homes team completed at 40 Etowah six years ago.

Ironically, this was once the homeowner’s grandfather’s home, so it was special to be able to add this for her! Black and white checkered tiling and slatted walls add charm to the space ideal for morning cups of joe, storing knick-knacks and more.
