Many older homes do not include a garage, a convenience that newer homes typically incorporate, whether it be an attached space that the home is built around or a separate detached unit to offer a unique aesthetic. In a recent project, local construction firm Womack Custom Homes completed a patio remodel and detached garage addition at a home in Cartersville.
The homeowners wanted a reimagined backyard space with plenty of room to entertain friends and family, as well as a detached garage, neither that the home originally included. The outdoor living space now features plenty of seating options across the new oversized deck that steps down to a seated table area before tiering down to the expansive flagstone patio.
Perfect for evening entertaining, roasting s’mores and more, the new flagstone patio features additional seating around an outdoor fireplace. The patio leads to the new detached garage.
Adding the perfect amount of modern farmhouse charm, the new detached garage boasts a moody color palette with dark wood access and garage doors and bright white trim. These homeowners now have plenty of space to store other items and store their vehicles.
For ultimate convenience for long project days, the main level of the new detached garage features a half bath, and the upper level offers additional unfinished storage space, as well as a wall of windows to let the natural light flood in.
