A true design-build firm that also specializes in renovations and additions, Womack Custom Homes is making Cartersville prettier one home at a time. Recently, the team had the opportunity to design and build a new custom home in Cartersville for appreciative clients ready to be in their dream home.
Located on a flat home site, this southern classic home plan was designed by Matt Womack using the specifications and desires of the homeowners. The home includes 2,800 square feet of expertly designed living space, including four bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms. Situated in the shadow of a magnificent oak tree, the home has beautiful windows framed by light blue shutters, cream colored lap siding, and a brick water table and front porch. A stained wood front door flanked by two lanterns welcomes guests to this stunning home.
A beautiful foyer continues the welcoming feel once guests step into the home. The entry features a warm wood staircase that leads to the second floor just inside the door, while the far end of the foyer opens to the main living area. The home’s open floor plan includes an abundance of windows, letting in lots of natural light throughout the space. The great room features built-ins surrounding the cozy fireplace, which showcases a herringbone-patterned brick surround and white wood mantle.
The gourmet kitchen is a vision in white, with white cabinetry, quartz countertops and subway tile backsplash contrasting nicely with the dark hardwood floors and natural rattan barstools. The dining nook is located just off the kitchen and features a wall of windows, continuing the theme of natural lighting found throughout the home. Food storage and organization is a breeze thanks to the home’s custom walk-in pantry, while a small appliance pantry and coffee station is built right into the kitchen cabinet design.
This home was designed to feature the owner’s suite on the main floor. The bedroom is lit by beautiful natural light streaming in throughout the day, and the cool green and neutral toned design scheme further lightens the space. The impressive ensuite bath and large closet is what dreams are made of, with its bright white design, double sinks, oversized soaking tub and walk-in shower with bench seating.
Also located on the first floor is a home office that provides the owner’s a quiet space to work from home.
Upstairs, there are three secondary bedrooms and two full bathrooms that provide plenty of space for family and overnight guests. A guest bedroom and bathroom both feature bright white and navy blue designs with gold accents, bringing a warm, relaxing Southern charm to the space.
One of the upstairs bedrooms was designed as a nursery for the family’s newest addition, and features a bright green, white and blue botanical theme, as well as a quaint window seat tucked away in a dormer window that overlooks the front yard.
Back downstairs, the mudroom entry is located off the garage, and it also connects to the home’s laundry room and powder room. The mudroom includes plenty of enclosed storage space, as well as bench seating that makes an ideal spot to sit and put on shoes. Above the bench, a number of hooks are the perfect spot for storing raincoats, jackets, bookbags and lunch boxes.
Laundry isn’t high on the list of anyone’s favorite chores, but this home’s laundry room may change that for this family! An adorable patterned wallpaper with a blue design matches the room’s blue painted cabinetry with gold hardware. White quartz countertops include a sink for pretreating laundry stains, and a large window provides plenty of natural light, making this one of the most cheerful laundry rooms we’ve ever seen!
The fun wallpaper trend continues in the home’s powder bath. The bright green print includes animals and palm trees, while the white accents throughout the room pop on the bold pattern.
Located off the living area, a large, covered back porch is the ideal place to relax. Two sets of double doors help traffic to flow back and forth between the indoor and outdoor living spaces when entertaining, while the porch opens to the expansive fenced-in backyard.
Finally, this home includes a two-car garage, plus an additional golf cart garage for the family’s toy storage.
